‘Tis the season for fun, with two different fundraising crab feeds scheduled by local organizations this month.
The first is to be put on by Central Valley Community Resources on Saturday, Feb. 11, at the Riverbank Community Center, 3600 Santa Fe, across from Cardozo Middle School.
The menu includes Caribbean-style crab, shrimp, tri-tip, Jambalaya rice, cornbread and much more, organizers say.
Tables are set at $500, good for family, friends or co-workers. Single tickets are $70 and couples tickets are available for $130.
The program includes a silent auction from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. that night, with the dinner scheduled from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. After that, there will be dancing to DJ Danny.
Organizers note that “Central Valley Community Resources (CVCR) makes available resources, knowledge and expertise to coordinate services and programs for individuals, families, and seniors. CVCR develops partnerships that serve the needs of our diverse community empowering all to be self-sufficient.”
CVCR is a local 501(c)(3) nonprofit agency headquartered in Riverbank that provides a range of services in Stanislaus County. Founded in 2011, CVCR promotes healthy development of individuals and families, encourages service and volunteerism, and helps build better communities for tomorrow.
Tickets for this crab feed are available by calling 209-896-3055.
Also scheduled this month is a Crab Feed being put on by the Bruin Boosters from Riverbank High School, the parents, friends and other supporters of the sports activities at the school.
That feed is set for Saturday, Feb. 25. The location for this one is the F.E.S. Hall at 190 N. Lee Ave., in Oakdale. They moved the event there, having outgrown the Riverbank Community Center, several years ago.
Doors are scheduled to open at 5 p.m., with dinner at 6 p.m., followed by dancing to a DJ spinning the musical tunes.
Early bird tickets are available for $70, from any member of the Boosters organization, and at the snack bar during home basketball games.
