Riverbank Arrests Reported, Arson Investigation Underway

Responding to several calls for service last week, Riverbank Police Services deputies handled cases which included an arson investigation, DUI, and drug paraphernalia.

Late in the evening on Sunday, Aug. 8, deputies responded to a solo vehicle traffic collision where a vehicle collided with a tree in the 3700 block of Atchison Street. The driver, a 55-year-old man, was found to be intoxicated. He was cited for DUI and transported to the hospital for minor injuries.

Deputies responded to a vehicle fire near Jackson and Callander avenues during the evening on Saturday, Aug. 7. The initial cause of the fire appeared to be arson. The investigation has been turned over to the fire department.

Also on Saturday in the evening, deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations near Jackson Avenue and Estelle Avenue. The driver, a 44-year-old man, was on searchable probation for drugs. During a probation search two methamphetamine pipes were found. The man was cited for the illegal pipes and probation violation.

Deputies stopped a vehicle for vehicle code violations in the 2200 block of Claribel Road just after midnight on Wednesday, Aug. 4. The driver, a 30-year-old, was arrested for an outstanding warrant.

During the morning on Monday, Aug. 2, deputies investigated an incident on Prospectors Court. A 42-year-old was subsequently arrested for making criminal threats and violation of a protective order.
