Riverbank Relay For Life Slated This Weekend

All those who have been touched by cancer are reminded that this weekend will see the annual fundraising effort known as Relay For Life take place at the Riverbank High School stadium. The 24-hour signature event of the American Cancer Society will start at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, April 30 and continue until 8:30 a.m. on Sunday, May 1 with team members walking and running around the track at the high school to raise funds for cancer research, patient services and educational efforts of the American Cancer Society.

You need not be on a team to attend; visitors are welcome. There will be musical entertainment throughout the event along with moving ceremonies such as the opening "survivors lap" at 8:30 a.m. on Saturday, the luminaria ceremony to recognize those lost and celebrate those surviving at 8 p.m. Saturday night, and closing ceremonies at 8:30 a.m. on Sunday.
