RHS spirit

Spirit Week is coming next week, as the students on campus at Riverbank High School prepare to celebrate the Winter Homecoming basketball game.

The Homecoming Queen and King will be crowned at halftime of the boys varsity game against Hilmar’s Yellowjackets, on Friday, Feb. 10.

In the week leading up to that event, students will be celebrating different themes each day.

Monday, Feb. 6, is Pajama Day, where students will be encouraged to wear their PJs to class. The lunchtime activity will be musical chairs.

On Tuesday, Feb. 7 it’s Geeks vs. Jocks Day, where students will dress up as a geek or a jock, or wear green. That lunchtime activity will be a tug-of-war.

Wednesday, Feb. 8 calls for Senior Citizen Day, where students will dress up as a grandma or grandpa, or wear blue, and the lunchtime activity will be the limbo.

Thursday, Feb. 9 is Jersey Day, where students will be wearing their favorite sports team jerseys, and the lunchtime activity will be a round of karaoke.

Concluding the week on Friday, Feb. 10, will be Bruin Spirit Day, with students dressing up in their class color. For seniors, it’s black; for juniors, maroon; for sophomores, it’s grey; and for freshmen, it’s white.

The Queen and King will be crowned at the halftime ceremony during Friday night’s varsity boys basketball game.
