A number of programs and activities are in the spotlight this week at Stanislaus State in Turlock. A complete schedule of Stan State events can be found on the University website.

Next UP Launches Discussion: COVID-19 Impact on Mental Health

COVID-19 emptied out the buildings and grounds of Stanislaus State last March, but it didn’t halt the educational endeavors of the University community. The work of students, faculty, staff and alumni continued and will be celebrated and shared in a new program called Next UP: Forward Thinking @ Stan State. The program launches Friday, March 19 and will center on a timely topic: “COVID-19, Mental Health and Addiction.” The live discussion, from noon to 1 p.m., will feature faculty members Shrinidhi Subramaniam and Suzanne Whitehead and Stan State alumna Quenna Martinez, an officer with Stan State’s University Police Department.

Agriculture Program Enjoys ‘Tastes of Valley’ Generosity

COVID-19 restrictions may have canceled last October’s Tastes of the Valley fundraiser, but Stan State’s agriculture program are still reaping the benefits after the Stanislaus Friends of the Fair Foundation donated nearly $20,000 toward scholarships.

Grimbleby Coleman Establishes Scholarship for Accounting Students

Five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded over the next five years to students pursuing degrees in business administration with a concentration in accounting. The Grimbleby Coleman firm regularly hires Stan State graduates, often after they complete an internship with the company.
