Turkey Drive Canceled; Donations Still Accepted
Turkey drive pix.JPG
Traditionally, volunteers seek donations during the annual Turkey Drive but because of bad air quality in the region, they won’t be out for the previously scheduled Saturday drive on Nov. 17. It has been canceled but residents can still donate at locations around the community.

The Annual Turkey Drive originally scheduled for this weekend in Riverbank has been canceled due to the bad air quality from the California fires. However, the Riverbank Cares organization is still collecting food donations like turkeys, non-perishable items, as well as accepting cash. There are barrels located around town where people can donate canned goods or non-perishable items.

O’Brien’s Market is collecting turkeys for the organization so if you purchase a turkey they store it for Riverbank Cares. Another option available would be to contact Lynda Silva at 209-480-6548 to make arrangements to deliver items or schedule a pick-up of donations.

The annual holiday food distribution is slated for Friday, Dec. 21 at St. Frances of Rome Catholic Church.
