Warrants, Drug Arrests Among Riverbank Cases

Riverbank Police Services had a variety of calls for service this past week including drugs, warrants, and vandalism. Listed are the details of some of the calls that deputies dealt with on the streets of Riverbank.

Just after midnight on Sunday, Oct. 25, deputies stopped a vehicle for speeding near Howard and Callander Avenues. While speaking with the driver, deputies could see a firearm in the vehicle near the driver. Both the passenger and driver were detained. Deputies located additional firearms on both the driver and passenger. They were both arrested for possession of loaded firearms in public.

Deputies attempted to stop a 29-year-old man on Sunday morning for an active warrant. He was seen walking on the street near Nevada Avenue and Seventh Street when deputies tried to stop him. The man fled from deputies on foot but was apprehended a short distance away and was subsequently arrested for the warrant.

During the afternoon on Sunday, deputies were dispatched to a dispute in the 5900 block of Man O War Court. They arrested Christianson Garcia, 26, for felony battery after the victim was taken to the hospital for medical care.

On Saturday, Oct. 24 during the evening deputies stopped a vehicle near Eighth Street and Atchison Street for vehicle code violations. A 42-year-old woman was arrested after she was found to have active warrants and methamphetamine in her vehicle.

Deputies contacted a woman during a suspicious vehicle call on Friday, Oct. 23 during the afternoon. A records check showed the 42-year-old woman had two outstanding warrants out of Oakdale. She was arrested for the warrants.

That same afternoon deputies responded to the 2300 block of Patterson Road after receiving a report that a male punched a glass window out of anger, causing it to break. They located the responsible walking down the street. Jerry Pearson, 44, was arrested for felony vandalism.

Deputies investigated a vehicle collision on Thursday, Oct. 22 around 5 p.m. at the intersection of Atchison and First streets. A vehicle struck a bicyclist as the bicycle crossed Atchison east of First Street. The bicyclist received moderate injuries.

On Thursday evening deputies stopped a 29-year-old man near Terminal and Kentucky Avenues as they knew he had an active warrant. He was arrested for the warrant without incident.

Deputies conducted a probation search of a 53-year-old man near Callander Avenue and Topeka Street as he was on searchable probation for drugs. The subject was found to be in possession of what appeared to be methamphetamine. He was arrested for the illegal drugs.
