In a season that was a tough one for Riverbank's varsity Bruins on the baseball diamond, the efforts of senior second baseman Cory Bigelow did not go unnoticed.

Though the Bruins were 0-for-the-TVL season, Bigelow has been selected to represent Riverbank in the 2008 Modesto Sunrise Rotary Baseball Classic. The 19th annual Stanislaus County Small and Large High School All-Star baseball games will be played at John Thurman Field in Modesto on Saturday, June 21.

Bigelow had 17 hits in 56 at bats for the season, hitting at a .303 clip, scoring eight runs. He had five doubles, drove in five runs, earned eight bases on balls and had two stolen bases. He will join teammates from Hughson, Central Catholic, Waterford and Big Valley Christian on the East All Star team for the Small schools contest. Manager for the East squad will be Steve Marks of Waterford, with coaches including James Parker and Adam Parker, both of Big Valley.
