Girls Battle It Out In Powder Puff Football

The Powder Puff football game is a popular part of Riverbank High's Homecoming festivities and proved so again on Thursday when Angel Duarte was crowned King at halftime.

The sophomore-junior Powder Puff team, playing in white shirts, defeated the freshmen and seniors wearing maroon in a hotly contested 24-18 game.

The roster for the sophomores and juniors included Yvette Jasso, Amanda Lopez, Yessica Blanco, Dominique Jennings, Juliana Navarro, Kristina Sanders, Victoria Sandoval, Sarah Do, Yesenia Tovar, Hanna Foster and Cassandra Gilbert.

Their coaches were Dalton Woitysiak, Alex Reynaga and Antony Navarette.

Playing for the freshmen and seniors were Kristen Sveen, Marisol Insurriaga, Aimee Lopez, Monica Perez, Paris Criswell, Angela Duran, Marrisa Lopez, Jessica Ramos, Andrea Arauza, Maribel Lopez, Loretta Pontillo, Caroline Schauf, Jacklyn Volpi, Viridiana Bernal, Izel Luna, Ramona Mesa, Carlye Avey, Alisha Borges, Aimee Felix and Martha Aguiniga.

Coaches included Garrett Smith, Rodrigo Silva and Eduardo Sanchez.
