Competition was fast and furious among after school teams, with a young hoopster going in for the lay up here. The after school program hosted a championship basketball game at the Riverbank Gymnasium this past Friday where Riverbank Language Academy, led by coach Monica Villarreal, was victorious over California Avenue Elementary, led by coach Gabriel Luna, in the final game. Feeling like champions anyway, California Avenue players participated in the championship game for the first time.
