Junior Bruins Lose At Home

The Riverbank Junior Bruins, members of the Motherlode Valley Youth Football League, lost their games last weekend at home and will travel to Salida to play this weekend.

The Jr. Bruins lost the Novice game 30-0, the JV game 42-0, and the varsity game 16-0. The Junior Novice game score was not reported. The Jr. Novice team, made up of 7- and 8-year-olds, don’t usually keep score, being new to football and with an emphasis on teamwork and learning the rules of the game, rather than focus on the outcome.

The Novices are 9- and 10-year-olds. The Junior Varsity Junior Bruin players are 11 and 12, and the Varsity squads is made up of 12-½ to 14-year-olds.

This week, the Jr. Novice team plays Saturday at 12:30 p.m., Novice at 2 p.m., JV at 4 and Varsity at 6 p.m. at Gregori High School, where they will take on the Salida Steelers in the fourth week of the season.
