As temperatures in the Central Valley soared past 100 degrees over the last week, the Riverbank Swimming Pool opened several days as a cooling station for residents affected by the heat.
And this year’s crew of lifeguards spent their Saturday this past weekend training for Monday’s regular opening of the pool, June 6.
Monday through Thursday the hours are 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., with Saturday hours of noon to 4 p.m. The admission price this year is $2 per person.
The pool is also open from 5 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. on Wednesdays, with a Free Swim during Farmers Market. For more information, call the Parks and Recreation Department at 863-7150.
