The Riverbank Raiders youth football season came to a close on Saturday, with a final home game against the Amador County Eagles.
Not having much go their way this season, Riverbank ended in fifth place, just out of contention for the playoffs, although a first round playoff game will be played in Riverbank on Saturday, Oct. 24. Other playoff games will be held at Sonora, Ripon and Hughson that day.
While the Jr. Novice teams, 7- and 8-year-olds, don’t keep score, the Raider Novice team (8- and 10-year-olds), lost 51-6 on Saturday.
The Raider Jr. Varsity 11- and 12-year-olds, lost 26-0 and the Varsity team, including 13- and 14-year-olds, lost 40-6.
Though it was a tough season throughout on the scoreboard, the Raiders teams all played hard each week they took the field.
