Students, Sports Return To RHS Following Break

Spring Break is over, students have returned to their classrooms and athletes have returned to their respective court, pitch, diamond or track to continue with the 2016 spring sports season.

While most Riverbank High teams were scheduled to resume play this week, the Bruin boys and girls track and field teams got in some action over the time off. They traveled to Palo Alto on Friday and Saturday, April 1 and 2, for the Stanford Invitationals.

This week is also expected to be busy, with RHS teams hosting games most days.

Track and field teams are set to resume home competition today, Wednesday, April 6 hosting the Escalon Cougars at Angelo Novi Stadium on campus.

On Saturday, April 9, they’ll travel to Turlock High to compete in the Hughson Vintage Invitational.

The boys baseball teams were to host Escalon yesterday, Tuesday, April 5, then they’re set to travel to Escalon tomorrow, April 7. Next Tuesday, April 12, they’ll host the Mountain House Mustangs.

The girls softball team first plays on April 8, Friday, hosting the Lady Cougars of Escalon, then welcome Ripon on Wednesday, April 13.

Girls soccer resumes tomorrow, hosting Ripon on April 7, then traveling to Modesto Christian next Tuesday, April 12.

The boys and girls tennis Bruins host the Hughson Huskies on Friday, April 8. They’re away at Escalon next Tuesday, April 12.

Boys golf was to tee it up yesterday at Modesto Christian.
