While the Night Hoops program continues for those 18 and older through Aug. 27, Beginning Basketball Camp for 6- to 10-year-olds is coming in a couple of weeks.

Held from 9 a.m. to noon at the Cardozo Gym, 3625 Santa Fe St., the beginning session will be held from July 11-15 for both boys and girls.

Fee for the camp is $75 and includes a basketball.

Scholarships are available by contacting the Recreation Department at 863-7150.

The beginning session is aimed at the younger basketball player. Skills taught will include dribbling, passing and shooting. Those attending are asked to wear proper basketball shoes.

An Intermediate Camp session will be held July 25-29, also at Cardozo Gym. The fee is also $75, with scholarships available. This second session allows participants to improve both offensive and defensive game skills.

The Night Hoops program for adults has a fee of $5 per night, on Saturdays, and is a drop-in, pickup game format.
