Mixed results for Riverbank Bruins sports teams

Riverbank High athletes saw mixed results for their efforts on the local courts and pitches during the past week. Here is a look at the recent Trans-Valley League action.

 

Bruin Basketball

Boys basketball split their contests, both home and away, falling 67-47 to Ripon High on the home court, on Wednesday, Jan. 10. Then, they traveled and earned a 49-42 win over Hughson’s Huskies on their court on Friday. At the end of the week, Riverbank stood at 3-1 in Trans-Valley League play, 14-5 overall.

This week, they’re scheduled to host Ripon Christian on Thursday and go to Livingston on Friday.

 

Lady Bruin Basketball

The girls traveled to Ripon on Tuesday, Jan. 9, taking a 46-36 TVL victory, before hosting the Lady Huskies of Hughson on Thursday, finishing with a 68-56 win. At the end of the week, RHS finished up with a 3-1 league record, 12-4 overall.

This week, they are to travel to Ripon Christian for a Thursday contest and host Livingston on Friday.

 

Bruin Soccer

Riverbank’s varsity boys beat Hughson on the road, 3-1, on Tuesday, Jan. 9, and hosted Livingston on Thursday, defeating the Wolves, 3-0. Their first score came in the opening minute of play. At the end of the week, the Bruins stood at 3-0, for first place in TVL play, 6-9-4 overall.

They were to travel to Hilmar on Tuesday, then host Ripon High School in a Thursday home match.

 

Lady Bruin Soccer

Girls soccer saw Riverbank falling at Hughson, 4-2, on Tuesday, and again, 3-0, at Livingston on Thursday. They were at 1-2 in the TVL standings at the end of the week, 2-12-3 overall.

The girls were to host Hilmar on Tuesday and travel to Ripon for a league contest on Thursday.
