City issues watering schedule for summer
water use

Riverbank’s proscribed watering schedule has changed for the upcoming summer season, with extended hours for lawns and landscaping.

With the warmer weather, watering days have increased from two days to three. Homes with even-numbered addresses water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, while odd-number addresses water on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. There is no watering on Mondays.

Watering hours are to be scheduled before 10 a.m. or after 7 p.m., to avoid the heat of the day. And the city requires everyone to hold off watering for 48 hours after measurable rain, though that is a rare occurrence during the summer months locally.

Drip and micro-spray systems are exempt.
