While it wasn’t linemen for the county – as sung about years ago by Glen Campbell – it was Modesto Irrigation District crewmen working on power lines in Riverbank recently. The work was being done on power poles along Railroad Avenue, a short extension of Roselle Avenue north of Patterson Road. It’s right alongside the newer warehouses there that remain after the cannery closed. Aeriz, a national aeroponic cannabis cultivation company, is using the warehouses and will be growing cannabis on the property. The improved electric facilities from MID most likely will be powering the large air conditioning units that were installed last summer.
