This photo was contributed by Riverbank resident Fast Eddy, who is a Korean War veteran and was given this silhouette of a soldier with his weapon and Old Glory as thanks for his service to our country. In celebration of the upcoming Veterans’ Day, the Royal Neighbors of America will host their ninth annual Veterans’ Day luncheon at the Riverbank Community Center on Saturday, Nov. 12. This event is free to all veterans and is by reservation only; the reservations are now closed. About 165 are expected this year, and Vietnam veteran Fred Stepp and the Jammers will provide the musical entertainment along with 12-year-old Phenix Lew singing the National Anthem for guests. Diane Talbert with the Royal Neighbors continues the luncheon to “give back to those who have given us so much.” Neighboring Escalon will have a parade and ceremony on Friday, Nov. 11 and Oakdale will have special services on Friday as well.
