American Veterans First, headquartered in Riverbank and serving the Oakdale-Riverbank-Escalon area and beyond, is pleased to announce that thanks to a generous sponsorship from Reese Farms of Farmington, they have partnered with the Stanislaus County Veteran’s Service Office to provide free transportation for the second annual Sail to Recovery program, Take A Veteran Sailing, on Saturday, Sept. 22.

Veterans and their family members who pre-register for the second annual Sail to Recovery program Take A Veteran Sailing with the Stanislaus County Veteran's Service Office at 3500 Coffee Road Suite 19, Modesto, may receive a ticket for round-trip transportation free of charge, while supplies last. Staff at Stanislaus County Veteran’s Service Office can assist veterans in registration for the event.

On the morning of Saturday, Sept. 22, a 25 passenger Storer Coachways bus will depart at 11 a.m. from the Veteran’s Service Office at 3500 Coffee Road and return ticket holders back to that location at 6 p.m. after the Take A Veteran Sailing event. Space is limited. Preregistration is required.

The second annual Sail to Recovery Take A Veteran Sailing event is designed to focus on sailing for health and well-being. Open to all veterans, active duty, first responders, and families who support them. The event is scheduled from noon to 5 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Stockton Sailing Club, 4980 Buckley Cove Way, Stockton.

A late lunch, cost of $10, will be served around 3:30 p.m. and include burgers, chips, and refreshments.

Those planning to attend are asked to pre-register for the event at before Sept. 15.
