Movies In The Park Resume On June 23

Residents and visitors to Jacob Myers Park this weekend will see the return of a fan favorite when ‘Movies in the Park’ returns for the summer season. This year, the screening will be joined by food trucks to satisfy viewers’ hunger.

The movie to be shown is Wonder Woman, a 2017 film based on the DC Comics character.

The free event is scheduled for 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, June 23, outdoors under the stars. It will start after sundown.

The movie is one of several scheduled for this summer, sponsored by Friends of Jacob Myers Park and Riverbank Parks and Recreation Department. This year, in addition to the movie, park goers will be able to enjoy several food trucks that are expected to be in attendance.

When the event was first announced, tickets were available on line to determine which viewers would be first to get in the line for the first-come, first-served seating. They went quickly, according to organizers.

After those with the early bird tickets find their places, the rest will enter and find their seat.

Other free showings scheduled for this summer include Peter Rabbit, to be shown on July 21, and The Spongebob Squarepants Movie, set for Aug. 11.
