On Friday, June 1, Stella Reyes will follow a proud tradition dating back to when Benjamin Franklin was the first Postmaster General of the United States.

Reyes will raise her right hand to take the official oath of office as the new Riverbank Postmaster at an 11 a.m. ceremony at the Riverbank Post Office, 6501 Third St., Riverbank. Post Office Operations Manager Sal Cardinal will administer the official oath of office.

“I am extremely proud to be chosen as the new Postmaster for Riverbank,” Reyes said. “I aim to continue to serve the Riverbank community by providing them with stellar customer service by means of my expertly trained team of dedicated employees.”

Reyes is married; she and her husband Jose have three children, a son, Joey, and two daughters, Alyssa and Erica. They have five grandchildren. Reyes enjoys reading and spending time with her grandchildren. She is a member of the Historical Society in Riverbank and volunteers at Emanuel Medical Center in Turlock.

As Riverbank Postmaster, Reyes oversees over 18,000 city and rural daily mail deliveries, with more than 21,000 pieces of daily mail volume. In addition, Riverbank services over 850 daily Post Office box deliveries. Reyes manages 20 employees.
