Eric Russell “Bush” Ulrich was born April 29, 1959 in Oakdale, CA. Eric lost his battle with Lymphoma on November 11, 2020 at the age of 61 surrounded by his loved ones in San Francisco, CA.
Eric lived his entire life in Knights Ferry. Known as the town’s favorite toe-head spending summers in the river and not getting away with much but then getting away with everything. Graduating from Knights Ferry Grammar School then onto OHS graduating class of 1977. He began giving back to his community at the age of 16 by becoming a volunteer fireman.
His service continued by taking over operations from his father at the K.F. Water Plant in 2001. He was also a member of the I.O.O.F Lodge #170. He belonged to the quarterback club and you could always count on him being in the stands supporting the Oakdale Mustangs. He loved spending time with family and friends. Nothing made him happier than his grandchildren. He loved the outdoors and made many memories in Yosemite.
Eric was preceded in death by his parents Al and Lucile Ulrich, sister Patti Ulrich, brother Mark Ulrich. He is survived by his wife Cathie Ulrich, son Matthew and (Meranda) Ulrich, daughters Cheryl and (Roger) Ozbirn, Melissa and (Sergio) Vargas, his sister Kathy Mangante, favorite niece, his many nephews, and his biggest joys in life, Meghan, Mikayla, Emma, and Paisley. Our family would like to thank everyone for their love and support during this difficult time.
Graveside service only Dec. 5, 2020 at 11 a.m., Knights Ferry Cemetery. Please wear a mask.
Remembrances requested to: LLS Central California, PO Box 102496, Pasadena, CA 91189; Mark Ulrich Memorial Scholarship Fund, Oak Valley Community Bank, 125 N. Third Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361.
