Rudi Burtschi Jr. died suddenly April 8, 2023 in Knights Ferry, CA. Rudi was a highly decorated Oakdale High School athlete. He was an All-State football player and a two-way starter for the section champion team in 2007. He was also a high school Freestyle State Wrestling Champion, high school All-American wrestler with 223 wins and 198 pins, three-time Folk-Style State Medalist, two-time State Wrestling Champion, two-time medalist at the Junior College National Championship. In 2008 he was named S.O.S High School Male Athlete of the Year.

In recent years he became a father of two and was working at Sinclair Engineering in Oakdale, CA. He was born November 12, 1989 to Mickey and Rudi Burtschi in Oakdale, CA. He is survived by his love Courtney Geren, son Logan Burtschi (7), daughter Lilli Burtschi (4), father Rudi Burtschi Sr., and brothers John Gumbert and Evan Foley. He was loved by all.

Services will be held May 6, 2023 at the Oakdale Rodeo Grounds. Service will begin at 12:30 with Celebration of Life to follow. In lieu of flowers you may make a small donation to Logan and Lilli Burtschi’s account at Oak Valley Bank, 125 N. Third Ave., Oakdale, CA 95361.

Our family would like to thank you for all the support the community has given us during this trying time. Rudi’s cause of death is still under investigation.
