The pair was singled out as league Scholar-Athlete award winners representing Riverbank High.

A recent ceremony was pride-inspiring for students and parents at Riverbank High School, with local athletes recognized by the Trans-Valley League for their scholastic abilities as well as accomplishments on the athletic fields.

RHS seniors Carlos Villapudua and Alondra Hernandez were recognized as 2018 Trans-Valley League Scholar-Athletes at a special banquet and ceremony hosted at the Turlock Country Club.

In letters from RHS Athletic Director John Bartlett, they were recognized for “achieving the highest level academically while also competing at the highest level in multiple interscholastic sports.”

Villapudua played both basketball and baseball this year, playing point guard on the court and both catcher, pitcher and shortstop on the ball field.

Hernandez competed in both cross country and track, running miles and miles, both longer distances and relays.
