Spring Sports Practices To Get Underway

With winter sports ending this week at Riverbank High School, there’s soon to be room for spring sports, which started officially on Monday.

February 4 was the day for practices to begin in earnest on the tracks, courses and fields on the RHS campus, with schedules set for spring sports.

Bruins co-ed Track and Field’s first meet will be a team challenge on the home grass on Thursday, Feb. 21, with an Inter-squad meet on Feb. 26.

Boys Baseball gets its start with a scrimmage against Johansen High of Modesto here on Friday, Feb. 15.

Softball’s Lady Bruins get their start with a game on the road on Feb. 22 at Davis High School, with their first home field action on Monday, Feb. 25, against Big Valley Christian, then Cesar Chavez High School comes here the next day.

Bruin co-ed Tennis gets underway at Ripon Christian on Tuesday, Feb. 26, with their first home court action on that Thursday and Friday, Feb. 28 and March 1, when they host the annual Riverbank Doubles Tournament. All the tennis courts in town will be busy that weekend.

Bruin Boys Volleyball starts up with match at Big Valley Christian in Modesto on Feb. 26. They first play at home on Tuesday, March 5.

Bruin Boys Golf rounds out the spring schedule, starting on Thursday, Feb. 28, with a practice round at the Jack Tone Road course. That’s where they’ll be playing their home matches this year.
