Varsity flag football girls continue solid season

Riverbank High School’s flag football team has put together a very strong season in Mother Lode League play and added two more wins to their total this past week. They were just one of many Bruin teams taking on league opponents, some playing at home, some on the road.

Here is a look at recent contests.

 

Lady Bruin Flag Football

The gridiron girls had two home games last week, with victories in both.

On Tuesday, Oct. 14, they hosted Gustine, defeating the Reds, 47-0, and on Thursday, they hosted River Islands, from Lathrop, and beat the Riptide, 19-12.

This week, the girls are looking forward to celebrating Senior Night on Thursday, Oct. 23, hosting Delta Charter from Tracy.

 

Bruin Football

Varsity gridders traveled to Linden, falling 42-0 to the tough Lions on Oct. 17. The host Lions are among the top Mother Lode League teams this season. This Friday, Oct. 24, Riverbank returns to Angelo Novi Field, where they will celebrate Homecoming, hosting Bret Harte High School from San Andreas.

 

Lady Bruin Volleyball

Riverbank netters hosted Big Valley Christian High School from Modesto on Tuesday, Oct. 14, falling in three games to the Lady Lions, 10-25, 5-25, and 6-25. On Thursday they dropped three to the Lady Red Hawks of Calaveras, 22-25, 11-25 and 10-25.

They were to have their Senior Night on Oct. 21, hosting Bret Harte.

 

Lady Bruin Golf

Riverbank linksters were scheduled to compete in the Mother Lode League Championship this week at the Teleli Golf Club in Sonora.
