Bees-
Families, siblings, teammates and coaches, including this team known as The Bees marched from downtown to Castleberg Park ball fields to begin the 2015 Riverbank Youth Baseball and Softball Association season on Saturday, March 14. Ric McGinnis/The News

Mother Nature cooperated with record high temperatures for March as the Riverbank Youth Baseball-Softball Association marched to the ballpark to begin the 2015 season.

Teammates, siblings, parents, coaches and just friends participated in opening day activities by marching from downtown Riverbank to Castleberg Park for the first pitch ceremony, followed by day-long games, both on the Castleberg fields and on the ballpark across from California Avenue School.

Pitching honors for firing in the first pitch went to Riverbank Mayor Richard O’Brien, who then turned the tables, catching a pitch as well.

The RYBSA maintains a website and a Facebook page so parents, team members and coaches can keep up with association schedules and other activities.
